What is The Information Store?

The Information Store is a “Home Depot” for Information.  The Information Store is a place to buy and sell information.

It is your resource for exploring and learning about things in the 21st Century.

We tackle big questions about what makes a society free or prosperous and how we can improve the world we live in. And we tackle small questions like what kind of home router you should buy.

Who Sells Information to the Information Store

We don’t have all the answers—but we’ve got a lot of ideas. By working with all kinds of people with all kinds of experiences from a range of academic disciplines and letting them share their own opinions, we help you explore new ways of looking for solutions to the world’s problems.

How does The Information Store Work?

The Information Store is built around the belief that there is more information available than one individual can processes.  The parable of the 3 blind men learning about an elephant is a perfect analogy.

The key here is that the blind men must acknowledge they are blind.  And they must acknowledge they need help from others to truly understand the elephant.  The problem is you really cannot trust the descriptions of others.  Sometimes because others intentionally try to mislead.  But, but often because of natural Conformational Biases and natural perceptual processes.  Thus, we use what Ronald Reagan called, “Trust but Verify.”

By setting up a “Standard Information Communication Process” whereby small groups process individual pieces of information and provide the metadata (metadata is a 21st century information concept) about the information  the entire community is benefited.

Our goal is not only to share information but to encourage everyone in the community to learn more, do more, and keep asking questions.
